The Goodmans app is a version of the Goodmans client portal designed for smartphones and tablets, created with our back-office provider, Plannr. It gives clients a simple way to view investments, information and actions, and to message us securely from a mobile device.
No, the web-based Goodmans client portal is still available for use on your laptop or computer. The app is specifically designed to work on Apple or Android smartphones and tablet devices, so it’s another, more convenient way to access your information.
You can still log in to your investment platform, for example, P1, Transact or Nucleus, but this will have a different set of login details to the Goodmans app. All the information will be in the Goodmans app so you don’t need to check each account separately.
Security is a major reason. While emails are a key target for cybercriminals and scammers, the app enables encrypted, private communication between clients and our team. It also makes everyday admin quicker, safer and easier, for you and for us. As it’s connected with our back office, actions made in the app automatically update in our systems.
Not at all – personal advice will always remain at the heart of what Goodmans does, so technology will never replace face-to-face meetings and conversations. The app just provides another way to connect with our team securely and to simplify everyday admin.
The app is available for free for all Goodmans clients. If you already have a Goodmans portal login, you can use the same details to sign into the app. If you aren’t already registered, you just need to give our team a call or email us to be set up.
You can find links to download the Goodmans app on your mobile device on our Login page. Alternatively, you can search for ‘Goodmans FP’ in the Apple App Store (for iPhones/iPads) or Google Play Store (Android devices) on your mobile phone or tablet.
The app is designed to work on any smartphone or tablet using Apple iOS or Android, subject to device compatibility. Note that if you're using a computer or laptop, you need to use the online client portal.
Yes, the app is designed to be simple and straightforward, so you can take your time exploring it without worrying about changing anything important by mistake. If you need a hand getting started or you’re unsure how to use any part of it, the Goodmans team will be happy to help.
If you already use the Goodmans online client portal, you can use the same email and password to sign into the app. If you haven’t got a Goodmans login yet, just give us a call or email us and we’ll set you up.
Just contact us and we can send you a new temporary password so you can reset your login details.
Yes, if your device supports it. Once you’ve signed into the app with your password, you may be asked if you’d like to use Face ID or your fingerprint next time. This can make signing in quicker while adding an extra layer of protection.
2-factor authentication (or 2FA) is a great way to boost security by adding an extra layer of verification when you sign in. If you choose SMS 2FA, you’ll get a temporary code sent to your phone that you need to enter to access the app (just note that the message will come from ‘Plannr CRM’, our back-office partner).
The app-based 2FA option is even more secure because you’ll need a separate app to create a code or approve a login. There are lots of these authenticator apps available for free.
We recommend setting up 2FA on any accounts that support it, especially those related to money and banking, because it makes it much harder for anyone else to impersonate you. The time-based one-time passwords (TOTP) mean that, even if a hacker manages to get your password, they can’t sign in without the code.
Yes, but each Goodmans client should use their own login. If the right permissions are in place, you’ll still be able to see shared family information when you sign in.
Yes. The Goodmans app and online client portal use encryption to help keep your messages and documents protected. This makes them a safer place to share sensitive information than ordinary email.
Email accounts can be hacked and messages intercepted, which means cybercriminals can potentially access sensitive information and even impersonate you or people you know. Emails can also be easily missed or caught in spam folders, even when messages are legitimate. The app keeps our conversations and your documents in a secure, separate place.
Your app login helps protect your account, especially if you use Face ID, fingerprint login or 2FA. If you lose your phone, or you’re worried someone else may have access to it, please contact us as soon as possible so we can help secure your account.
When you first sign in, you should be asked if you want to enable push notifications, which means you’ll get an alert on your device whenever there’s a new message or action for you in the Goodmans app. We recommend you allow notifications so you don’t miss anything important that needs your attention. You can change notifications at any time by going into the ‘Settings’ menu on your device.
Active Goodmans clients can:
View all your investments, policies, documents, actions and conversations with Goodmans.
Track your assets over time and see up-to-date valuations, holdings and transactions.
Upload documents – scan or photograph documents using your phone and send them securely through the app.
Message your Financial Planner and contact the Goodmans team securely.
Book a meeting and view upcoming meetings.
Update your details and financial goals.
This will be the case if permission has been given by all the relevant people in your family.
The app is designed as a tool for better visibility and to simplify everyday admin, but more significant decisions and actions will still be made during your review meetings and one-on-one conversations. This means you don’t need to worry about making significant changes in the app or messing anything up by accident! For security reasons, any important changes will need to be verified first by talking to our team, and Goodmans will confirm this with you directly.
If anything doesn’t look right, don’t hesitate to contact us at Goodmans so we can check it for you.
Yes, however, you don't need to anymore as the Goodmans app shows all your investments and assets under one dashboard. Just note that your platform login details won't work in the Goodmans app – contact us to get set up on the Goodmans app if you haven't used it before.
While the app should show relevant information in real time, some information may depend on permissions, linked accounts or set up. If you think something is missing, just let us know.
